Exploring the structure of words, literally and metaphorically

Peter B: "I make works as a personal exploration of abstract ideas, interrogating the relationship between meaning, form, materials and process. I prefer working in 3D because it allows for the use of space and time, avoiding illusionism.

I am currently exploring the structure of words, literally and metaphorically, using letters as 3D objects juxtaposed to suggest alternative meanings simultaneously, whilst creating sculptural forms in their own right. Thus, M and E can be rotated as forms and signs, to have the same or complementary meanings, reinforced by the primary colours; W, H and Y can be a question or, in another form or via the reflected surface, suggest an answer.

The work in progress introduces metal and lights, referencing a different sort of language, that of industrial sign-making"
